Hello

Hello all!

Newbie here. I've been watching the cam on and off for a while now. I became an addict on Christmas day when the lions came. Due to my work schedule I seldom see the African daylight. Today I am off and it seems to have been a pretty quiet critter day. Figures.
Can anyone tell me, is that a bird calling? If so, what bird? It sounds like a child screaming. Very high pitched.

Oh, and a Happy 2007 to the cam folks. Laughing out loud Thank you so much for all that you do. It is fantastic to watch!

Tabby,

The sound you heard is the Natal Spurfowl.
Thanks to Landi who has identified it for me Smiling
The Natal Spurfowl tends to call like this when a small group is wandering around feeding and can't see each other - they call to let each other know they are still around.

I've added it to the ~ Sounds of Nkorho ~ site.

Thanks & hello, Gerda.

It's gone now, but it was rather eerie sounding. It even had my cats looking around.
