Also, if we make an error, we have an edit button as well as a delete button (it is the "x") we can use. Just saying.
Editing and deleting on The Boma
Elaine, I replied in a topic and it was in the wrong thread, and, I went back, used the "x" and deleted my reply.
If I STARTED a thread and tried to delete my post, I doubt I could if there were replies after it. At least, on my own boards that isn't permitted unless you're the administrator or moderator with keys to behind the scenes.
I don't know how this board is configured. I only know, I used the "x" and made deletions of my own posts without causing any harm to others. If it weren't allowed, that "x" wouldn't be there. I removed the delete option on my board.
PS: Back to the regular topic--I'm sure that was a mongoose but would love to see the picture in the picture thread.
But we are using a reply button here to post..and that is how the situation was setup at the start of this forum. Now unless there were changes made to the program since last i saw this info posted?
If you started your own topic?? then you can delete your own post but not if someone has replied to you.
I can't recall..were you the person that had problems posting pics to the daily cam pic topic? that they never appeared for you ?..and it was because you (or someone else if not you) had started your own topic..? Sorry, my memory is fuzzy, i read so much on the forum yesterday and today. But i answered someone that way yesterday...
This is also how the sanparks.org forum is set up. Each post is a reply and only a moderator can delete your post without deleting all following .(to prevent a zillion new topics started each day by each poster. )
good idea you had.. to check with one of the mods. hehe I am not about to tell you to try it... and have you wipe off the whole board that follows.
Are you sure Elaine? I've deleted my own mistaken posts many times over the last two weeks without deleting anything but my very own little mistaken post. It's not the same delete button as a moderator's delete button (I run a message board and the two are distinctly different).
I can't delete your post or anyone else's, just my own.
And now I do hope a mod comes by and cleans up the Pan and deletes all this
If i may, a reminder to us all.
Only use the delete button if there are no posts following yours. Only the mods can delete without deleting all the following posts.
For example , To remove a pic that is a duplicate of one already posted or is too large for the max allowed file size and dimensions....you can click on EDIT and only delete the Pic URL. and leave the rest of your post.
