Hi gang...rather then wait till the last minute,I thought Id post this now and give folks abit of time to make a plan. Dont be deceived by the title, all birds seen anywhere can be counted. I try to go to a few local spots that I know arent birded very much,as I dont really get yard birds.
http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc is the website, take abit of time and check it out. Anyone in North America can take part, whether U can report whats in your yard,a local park or other favorite birding spot,U can take part. Its a small way we can contribute to research and discover whats around where we live! I hope U will take part, and let us know here what U found.

This should pretty much be the final totals based on the update time. All records for checklists submitted, species seen and total birds counted were broken. They stopped accepting reports on Feb 28. What a sucess, this should provide the best snap shot ever of where the birds are.

Statistics from 2007

Total Checklists Submitted: 80,288

Total Species Observed: 627

Total Individual Birds Counted: 11,004,895

Congratulations Bella!! Great photo . Laughing out loud
.. I have not seen one here yet.I'll have to keep watch for it. Our state bird count says there were some counted here. I participated in the count this year too. It was not as hard as I thought it would be.
