I want to thank colmica for posting that link. Like Tim I have been without africam since the switch and have been having serious withdrawals. Thanks to the link I am just sitting here peacefully listening to the crickets chirp. Thanks

I genuinely hope the people running the cam are making a tidy profit off the new advertisers and format. I understand the need for that kind of thing.

Unfortunately, the new format doesn't work on my screen. I have not yet been able to view the cam while the new format was up and running. It won't be long before I take Africam off my favorites list.

This place was a gem while it lasted. I will miss it.

I don't mind the commercials, but it does seem to me that our NIGHTLY BLACK OUTS started just after the Wavelit site was messed with. Maybe the surges are a result of the changes? For myself, the hours between 10:30 PM and dawn are MY daylight viewing hours. Also the best time to see RARE things like hippos, so this constant problem is very disappointing. Is it a ploy to eventually make us pay for the right to see the Pan? And if so, how many of us will stay on and face the constant scoldings/corrections from the "overworked" mods?
Don't all yell at me at once... I CAN tune you out!

I really do enjoy the cam.....When it's up. So, I'm glad it's not a pay to view site, cause then I would be mad about the cam being down so much. The commercials are neccesary for funding I guess.

I used to think that Nkorho Lodge was doing this as an advertising "gimmick", but changed my mind quickly. Then I was concerned about who was funding the live streaming video, and was prepared to make a contribution. No such offer was made, from any source. I, myself would be more than happy to make a contribution to keep our cam up and running, but I also feel that this site should be made available to the entire world, regardless of so-called membership.
Again, just my lonely opinion.

I think the way it works is that the commercials on the Wavelit site pays the bills. Wavelit does have some sections where they want you to join but so far Africam is free as long as we watch the commercials.

I've often wondered who paid for all this fun and was even going to ask if they took donations or whatnot, then this happened. Is OK by me, but I'd rather make a donation. Just my 2 cents
