Save the Black Eagles

For those of you who don't know the Black Eagle cam has a long history but unfortunatly might not have a good future! please read this below and help if you can.

The Black Eagle Project and its sub committee the proposed Sisulu Urban Wildlife Reserve, are a Non-profit section 21 company.We are a group of volunteer conservationists fighting to save the Roodekrans Ridge Eco System and all the fauna and flora that resides on it. !
To protect this eco-system from collapse the Black Eagle Project and Sisulu Reserve Working Group need urgent financial support to prevent developers from destroying this habitat of high conservational value.
Our petition and our many appeals were completely dismissed by Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Environment (GDACE) with no reasons provided. Our attorney (S Gore) wrote a letter to the MEC demanding he give reasons for dismissing our appeals - this letter was never replied to. In the mean time the developer started to clear certain sites in phases 1 & 2. After an urgent meetings with senior counsil and Birdlife South Africa we were advised to lodge an urgent legal review against the MEC & GDACE, (1st Respondent), the HoD - DACE (2sd Respondent) and the developer, Landev (3rd Respondent). An urgent interdict was lodge against Landev to cease all construction until the legal review has been heard and decided by the High Court.
According to our advocate Peter Lazarus, we have an extremely good chance of winning this case and preserving the Roodekrans Ridge eco-system. This eco-system is of high ecological value and hosts certain red data species, besides being the hunting ground of the black eagles, caracal, black backed jackal and many more smaller species. All of which will disappear should this development go ahead.
The notice of motion has two parts being the review application and the interdict. The interdict is set down on an urgent basis and shall be heard on Wednesday 14th Feb. GDACE have indicated that they will not be opposing the interdict which leaves the developer. The developer has agreed not to develop on Phases 3,4 & 5, unfortunately because the vegetation on Phases 1 & 2 has been damaged it is unlikely the court will preclude the developers from continuing construction on those sites.
In respect of the draft settlement the respondents have 30 days to furnish documentation to our senior counsil and so it goes on until a court date is set for trial.
We now need urgent financial support and appeal to you to please help us with this. Would it be possible for you to forward this appeal to as many friends, colleagues and corporate campanies as possible. We have managed to collect approximately R60 000 (8500 $US). but need to collect atleast R200 000 (28 000 $US). There really is no voice for the environment in this country and unless we all stand up now there will be nothing left for future generations.
