Does anyone who listens through a player ever mess with the equalizer to tone out some of the background or interference?

If so, how do you have yours set?

I did discover that I can change my audio quality in the control panel (Win XP)
I have it set for a carpeted hallway & it does seem alot more "centered?"

Windows xp control panel, double click on realtec HD sound effect manager, then sound effects, then change settings in environment panel.
