Avian Cognition Lab at NAU

I recently contacted the director at the Avian Cognition Labratory at Northern Arizona University about photographing the birds in their facility. Much to my excitement they agreed, here are a few of the photos I took there. Hopefully I will have more photos soon as I think I will be joining them out to a field study.

"The Avian Cognition Laboratory (ACL) is a research facility in the Department of Biological Sciences at Northern Arizona University dedicated to the investigation of behavior, learning and memory, ecology, and genetics of seed-caching birds in the family Corvidae." If you would like to find out more about the ACL check out thier website at http://www4.nau.edu/acl/

I went with two guys from the school yesterday to go look for pinyon jays. We were hoping to identify some individuals by their band color. Not our day, missed 'em. Saw a lot of other birds though. I posted some pictures in the March pics section.
