NEW DAY EVERYONE
No hunjoro, Venus set below the western horizon at 7:51 SA time, it's 18 after midnight now. That is a star named Alhena in the constellation Gemini.
The moon is more or less directly overhead and just entered totality. The folks at the lodge have a ringside seat, but there's not a chance we'll see it on the webcam.
It's too late for that to be Venus.
I can't believe they are talking so loudly
Hunjoro: that's Venus yes
Edited: appearantly not
Is that Venus directly above the marula tree?
Maybe they are waiting for the eclipse, but all the talking will keep the lions away, won't it? They sound close, just out of camera range.
Aren't there so many intriguing (sp?) sounds on cam tonight?
YOu mean to tell me, that bone chomping sound I heard is the homosapiens eating nachos?
Too funny! Ya mean they got nachos in Africa? Thought that was a Spanish thing! LOL! Panning now...
Y`all got some good ears! Just heard a squeal of some kind but that's the first thing I've heard besides crickets & & the nightjars & my sound is up! WOW! Now THAT is LOUD! A bird maybe?
