A Day In The Life of Africammers Around The World

HI everyone:

I just wanted to let you know I didn't forget about this thread, nor was I disuaded from starting it by the few negative comments posted here. It's just, I think it would be redundant now. Katja's Four Seasons thread (link below) covers this topic already so I won't start the around the world thread after all.

Yes !! Im so glad you decided to go ahead with this. I may not post much, but I read what everyone has to say. And I look forward to getting to know you all better. I already know what my pic will be of..:)

We will be doing it in June only and for size limit, the standard allowed limit for this forum will be ok.
When posting images, they should not exceed 500 x 350 pixels or 60kb.
Only one pic per person.
Think about it, what single shot will be representative of you?

Ahhh cool I'll start looking around to see what I would like to use. Probably pictures in a picture :)
Oh and I would think a size limit?

Keekee, I've been corresponding with Cerinthe and we are going to float the idea again. You are correct. The idea is for folks to take pictures of whatever is happening in their little corner of the world to share their neighborhood, their view of the world (tasteful images within the BOMA guidelines).

And then post just the one photo that each of us feels represents what we want to convey, be it our back yard, front door, local park, local pub, the bus stop, the train station, the dog next door, something you pass each day going to or from work, school, the post office, the grocery store, etc.(those are just suggestions--not a list of subject matter).

It's meant to be a one-time event, one thread, in the Campfire probably.

The idea is along the lines of "A Day In The Life Of" that book that came out some years ago when professional photographers around the world took pictures on just one day showing the world on that day.

While of course we all share the common interest of wildlife and Africam, we are a community and there's no harm in getting to know each other. We already know we share Africam and wildlife in common :)

And if the thread doesn't interest someone, there's no pressure for them to participate or even look at the images we post.

If we could only do conservation, birding or gardening then it would be only about what you do concerning ecology not about YOU and teh diversity in our daily life.

This really was a good idea, shame it got shot down. As much as I love the waterhole it probably would be best suited for the campfire.
