I just upgraded my WMP to 11.0, and now the link mms://live.wildlife.wavelit.net/6192NKP
tells me that it is pirated, and to view Africam to visit Africam.com

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

the way to find out if it is YOU and YOUR computer or if it is africam..not allowing
you to see any of the three ways to view AfriCam Nkorho Pan
is to try another streaming video site with sound .

for Real player users who have been able to access AfriCam on RP
try this for a test cam: http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/GiantPandas/

The pandas are streaming beautifully. Alas, Wavelit and Africam give me no picture.

I'm another FF user. I found that using their IE tab extension works for letting me watch from within the website, since I have the same problem described by someone else - when I'm in FF, it tells me I need a plugin but then doesn't install a plugin and can't find whatever it's looking for.

To avoid having to use IE straight-up, get the IE tab extension, open the home page in the IE tab, and the NKHORO STREAM link will work. So you're still browsing with Firefox but that particular page is configured to display and act as if it were in IE. Yes, there are ads, no you don't have the functionality and customization I (some of us) like in WMP, but at least you can see what's happening.

I would definitely consider paying a fee to be able to view the cam as long as I could view it in WMP sans fee.

EDIT: Oops, I meant "sans ads".

I'm not sure what I have done differently, but I am currently running the same version of Firefox on 2 different desktops and a laptop and I watch without any issues. Maybe if you uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Good luck.

Hi Robin,

No solution here, sorry. Just wanted to let you know I'm in the exact same boat here so you're definitely not alone. Why they won't make it compatible with Firefox I don't know - very unfortunate since more and more users have switched away from IE. There wouldn't be such a need to try to find an alternative viewing method if we were able to view it thru our browser.

for those who use WMP try this site: (only lit during daytime as it is all outdoors) but at time of this post you can see the distant light of the barns . Wait till dawn in TN/USA to really test the video.

At this time i am accessing Nkorho Pan on the wavelit site..on IE7 and can resize my 'pic' size and also can resize my IE7 WINDOW size. So that i have room on my desktop for all the other AfriCam cams that I watch . I am also using my Microsoft popup blocker and i see no ads interrupting my viewing.
For the past 8+ years AfriCam has been my hobby and my escape. lol
and for all those years i have used only Internet Explorer Browser.

But at this time i still get the buffering and interruptions on both ..wavelit and WMP videos. And i have a hi-speed cable modem broadband connection. and am using WinXP Pro system.

Prior to today, 7th march, i only viewed AfriCam's video on WMP. But now have found a way to watch in addition, if i choose, to watch on wavelit.com in a way that suits me , the viewer.
I am sure that AfriCam will have a solution that suits us all.
Have faith

I dont know when i have ever seen so many people get worked up over such a small thing. I mean , granted we are ALL addicted but dont get so excited people. take a break. give yourselves time to calm down. I dont mind the ads but what i dont like about the wavelit site is that i cant find a comfortable size for viewing. If i go full page, which is what i like to do, then i can bring up the forum in another window and shrink it down , but then you have no control over anything else. You cant even get to the menue bar to access anything else. so if they would come up with a simplar way to adjust the size i think more people would use it.

If you open the cam like normal, then right click on the image you can click on "properties". Once this is opened, you can see where it says "location". All you have to do is copy/past this into the "open URL" which is under the File menu of WMP. Therefore I still have to see the ads, but I can also use media player.

If what I am doing is wrong, by all means let me know, but I see no problem.
