Sungura suggested that I post my viewing issue here, to which I hope I can get some resolve because I am going through Africam withdrawal.

I get this WMP error message: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

If you have any suggestions, I am willing to try.

Thank you.

This is my first post to this website...I have been watching the cam now for about 6 weeks. Have never had any problem logging on but this morning I changed the filter setting to the high level....could not get on at all. Changed it back to medium and got in pronto. Also, when I listed Africam as an allowable site it worked. You might check to see what your filter level is set at (under tools) Good luck

Hi, I've also have problems viewing the cam recently. At first I tried taking out the spyware and pop-up blocker, but eventually found that it will work if I only disable Norton's "Ad Blocking" programme. Itried to add it to the list of permitted sites, but to be honest, I don't know how to do it and although I've added www.africam.com and www.wavelit.com and pressed "permitted", it doesn't seem to make any difference and I think I have to add some string or other. No idea how to do this! Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Fani and Carolec!

I have cleaned my computer a million times it seems. I have not changed any security programs since before I could view through Wavelit and Africam. I don't know how to change Norton security Sad

I can access the site - but in a long winded way. I use realplayer - (file -6192NKP) - initially I get the piracy message, then wavalit opens and I click on wildlife - africam. Working at the moment.

Penny ...try to clean your computer first....(cookies, temporaries...) and then if it isn't work ... check your security program...(maybe you need to adjust it to accept Africam .com)...But really I don't know

Many people have problems to see the cams the last days... I think I read somewhere that they were working on it

Should I follow the same suggestions? For about a week, I have not been able to access wavelit's Africam (black screen) nor Africam's Nkorho's stream (white screen with jibberish at the top). I have emailed all the Help people listed in all the sites. No answer. I, also, can't access the wmp site originally given to us. Luckily, someone gave me another site to view in wmp and it is working.

I would appreciate any help. I use windows xp and internet explorer 7 (I think - how do I check that?) and I have tried wmp 10 and 11. My Dell inspiron 6000 is 2 years old.

I would really like to contribute to Africam but if I can't view the wh I probably will not.

Thanks,
Penny

Thank you Gerda. I am waiting for my husband to help me with all this - I'm a computer novice - he's the guru. I'm improving my knowledge though with all that has been happening.

Thanks again!

I had same problem at work when we upgraded to windows media player 11.
I than uninstalled wmp 11 and re-installed windows media player 10 and it worked again in mozilla and IE 6.0. Don't know if it will work with IE7.0 but you can always try.

I would also configure Norton to set www.africam.com and www.wavelit.com as accepted sites, and to allow popups from them.
