I read carefully all the above (LOL it isnt easy for me to understand all even after three years practice in language on Boma!!!! That's another use of this forum What I want to add is that really this forum isnt so easy for some people and if someone is not used of it, it is hard to post or to participate....May it isnt so friendly but people still is coming, reading and watching...Of course not too many like in past...but look at the clicks on the forums.....It's impossible to do so many clicks the 10-20 people posting here... __________________

While I enjoy posting my own sightings around home etc,Id understand perfectly if the board wished to restrict posting to whats on cameras or whats been seen on them and discussions about them. I have no problem with posting pics I saved off the cams..now that there are a few cameras actually working. BUT dont pretend anything about the new board has to do with why so few members post. That started long before the new board. People got sick of the site not having cameras that worked and many simply left.. period. It was certainly no better on wildcams board, the same small group of people were posting there consistantly. When cameras were pitiful there was little to talk about that was on them, now there are. If this means changing whats spoken about on the boards so be it. When the new board started a few people got all excited when 90-100 people had signed up...I said yes and lets see in a month if more then the same 20-30 people use it. Surprise..on most of the boards very few people use it. Im not throwing critism, but again after the downfall of the site and prior to that, very many people had quit watching the cameras altogether and came only for the social aspect, with friends they had made. That personally drove me nuts...Im not interested in a bunch of hellos. If people want to chat to each other like that,my opinion is use email,or something like MSN Messanger or Yahoo or the one of your choicce.

[quote="TabsI am against Africam having too many threads on this Boma Hey tabs...maybe Wildlife Campus can start a "How to use a Message Board' course for you. LOL I think the terminology that is used for NAMES of Forums and Topics is confusing people. I still think the Forum just set up by cameraman..might better be named, "AfriCam Daily Sightings and CAM chit-chat" Then topics within that Forum would be one daily topic for each day/date. (Since not all the AfriCam cams have a time and date stamp on them) Examples: 1. a topic for "Sightings on AfriCAm 09 June, 2006" (this practice of posting pics for each day separately has been successfully used on Community Zero/eCircles since 1999 and on SAnparks Forums since. ) My persoanl opinion is that tabs, you are greatly outnumbered in your opinion of Sanparks Forums. ) 6,000 plus members on the Sanparks Forum can't all be wrong) 2. Cam ChitChat ,... this need not be new each day and could cover many days/dates of questions, etc. and be as long as Cameraman thinks necessary. So with the above you have one forum with two topics in it. And i started these dailys within the Campfire Forum because there was no word at that time , late on the 8th , from cameraman re: where he wanted AfriCam pictures posted. But then that is up to cameraman. Elaine

**YOUR A SMART LADY **FANI ALL THESE WONDERFULL IDEAS YOU HAVE -
And Fani's idea has produced results as cameraman has now opened a new thread on the forum for discussing things seen on the cams. Well done fani! __________________

However, having read your above post, I now agree that it could be useful to have a cam sightings thread - especially if /when Africam have enough cams showing the wildlife?
at least black eagle and tempe cam is working now so we have something to see .... __________________

It's some days now that I can see fresh pictures on Africam ...about animals and birds...THis is why I did this suggestion...
We need everyday chit-chat...and many people get a lot of fan sending their photos and their reports on all things birds thread...(that it isnt an under utilized forum at all)
I think that these threads has now their own indentity and it is good to exist for our enjoyment...and not only
But now ...I saw some intersting pics on the new cams ...and I wanted to send them for your enjoyment or to discuss about them .....and also becouse I have some questions that I would like to see an answer ...and I have just realized that there is nothing where someone can go and see similar posts together If cameraman dont put a new thread on the first page about Africam sightings...or you dont agree about that....I will put my questions and I will send pics on All thing;s animals And sorry for my mistakes ...It 's easy to write about the weather Tabs Hi Fani - I didn't mean to be dismissive about your suggestion - and I am very aware of the temptation to write about the weather in the absence of anything else to talk about (it is a very British trait anyway, due to our unpredictable weather!) but I did, at the time of my posting, feel that the sightings on the cam could be discussed under 'All things Birds or 'All things wildlife' However, having read your above post, I now agree that it could be useful to have a cam sightings thread - especially if /when Africam have enough cams showing the wildlife? I am against Africam having too many threads on this Boma as it may become difficult to read and respond to. I have almost given up on the Kruger Park Message board, and the birding forum one that I belong to, for exactly that reason. Tabs __________________

What about to create a new thread where we can discuss pictures we see on Africam cams ?
I actually thought that this was what the Boma was for? Instead most of the posts on the Boma are about 'the weather here' and other non-wildlife related stuff which is totally unrelated to the Africam cams and which, sadly, appears to puts off many loyal and long-time africammers from posting here. I can't say that I blame them as I struggle to find anything of interest on the Boma to read, or reply to, most of the time I would personally like to see postings about the cam sightings on 'All things animals' and 'All things birds' rather than have yet another under-utilised forum added. I won't go into my personal opinion of sightings on the Pyramid/Kili/ Table Mountain cams.... I am sure there are others here who find some kind of enjoyment from them, though I fail to see the attraction myself! __________________

Hey tabs...maybe Wildlife Campus can start a "How to use a Message Board' course for you. LOL
I recall your post re: you are against too many Forums..? 9agreed that the name WILDLIFE is too broad a term for a Forum). Now you are against 'new threads'??. The only under utilized ones that i see are Wildlife and MEETS..
I think the terminology that is used for NAMES of Forums and Topics is confusing people. ..... etc, etc, etc
Elaine
Now you do have me (very) confused E - I am not sure what you are trying to say here? Never mind, hopefully I will work it out, given time...........
