I found this to be well written and well researched book that brings one to appreciate these magnificent creatures even more.

Starting with the author's encounter with the mysterious (possibly now extinct) Knysna forest elephants in South Africa, the book brings the elephants into your home as you discover the subtle ways they communicate and live.

I have read it several times and refer to it time and again after watching elephants in the wild, trying to discover why they behaved in a certain way.
