Critical Errors...

Seems like within the last day or two the board has had lots of critical errors.

Is anybody looking into it? Seems like each passing day it has gotten worse and worse.

Just curious.

Getting a new one....Error 403....and not a generic 403 either, but rather a specific security flag claiming malicious automated requests. I am quite certain I am neither hacking the site, nor do I have malware onboard....

The immediate problem right now is our ISP, servepath, are experiencing network problems. They are onto it but it seems there may be problems with Transit, plus their internal switching

Don't want to push....but the slowness and connection errors have sorta gone past annoying and irritating...and is headed for unusable. Have you guys determined if it is a Drupal problem, or server problem....or other? Might be time for drastic measures and bounce those search bots out of here...and maybe the rest of the guests too...if the database can't handle the load.

Sounds a bit draconian, I know....but what else can you do at this point?

I usually don't like to complain but this is making me a little crazy. For the past 1.5 hrs. I have been trying to connect to this site, either I can't connect altogether, or I get to the homepage and then can't get to the forums page, get to the forums page but then can't get to the thread...and so on. Too many connections or can't connect to database, etc. This has happened before but nothing like what I just went through. I am filled to the brim with frustration. If I wasn't then I would have bypassed this thread. Please make this a priority on your "fix it" list. I appreciate all the hard work done behind the scenes but this is one area that could make it's way to the top of the list. Please! and Thanks! BTW...this is my second attempt to post this. The first time, I was kicked out ....again.

Many errors again tonight....

If you guys can't find a coding or server problem...perhaps check your logs and see if maybe this isn't a DOS attack. Africam isn't what I would consider a high-profile target....but there are plenty of script kiddies out there that want to try their hand at taking down a site.

For the admins:

I have been doing a little searching based on the idea that the huge number of "guests" online is false. That the database is not releasing connections and they are stacking up. I found this at Drupal...and although a shot in the dark...perhaps something you may want to look into. Don't know PHP/sql, myself...

http://drupal.org/node/42626

If the persistent database connections are invloved...maybe shut it down and see if things improve.

You likely have already looked into this...but wanted to post in case you haven't. Smiling
