There are more than one kind of mongoose at the water hole. The one pictured near the bottom of this post is I think a slender mongoose.

That's the puzzle. There is a ringtailed mongoose but it lives in Madagascar! I'm positive one of our critters does have a ringtail and one a white tail. More research needed!

Since Feb 17, 2007 I have seen a lion, ellie's, wilde's, impala, kudu, rhino's, a hippo, warthog's, zebra, waterbuck, cape buffalo, hyeana, jackals, baboon & vervet monkeys, southern ground & yellow billed hornbill.

Grannycat - the genet face does look quite a bit more pointy....what mongoose has those distinctive tail rings, I wonder....I like that website...
