If you want a guard dog, then you don't want to train it not to bark. I rescue a breed of spaniels, and I've taken in a number of dogs from puppy mill breeding stock that have been debarked. They can still make noise, but not loud. Sound like they have laringytis. (sp) It makes me furious every time I encounter one.

Actually, ane electronic collar would be the best thing for the dog. It could still bark to warn of danger, but it "should?" stop the nuisance barking. They could also use it to train the dog to stay on lodge property and not chase our critters...alsthough the video of the jackals chasing him were quite amusing. __________________

I'm glad my dog does not bark like that! She is just a puppy, but she knows better & only barks a couple of times when someone comes to the door. She knows not to bark constantly, even then. If this dog is a pet, how come no one has ever worked with it to make it stop that barking?

At least the dog seems to have quietened down ....now I'll worry over what they did to stop it barking!

To be honest.....I don't think I want to know!

I am a dog lover but I have to say that the dog is getting on my nerves.
I've not been here long but it only seems to have been barking like this very recently. I've always had dogs too but I couldn't have put up with persistent barking like this and those poor paying guests.....bet it's not cheap to stay there either! If it is the owners dog how come we have never heard it before the last few days?? I have been on this site for 7 months and I have never heard the little rascal. I feel sorry for the paying guests.__________________
