I see they didn't do anything about making a puddle into a watering hole again. I'm on edge, wondering what is around and about to make us jump when it appears.

Was that an owl? I wasn't looking directly at the screen so only saw a quick swirl in the upper right.

I did see what appeared to be a hare but didn't post or check to see if anyone else noticed. It hopped around for a bit, when I left the room and came back, it was gone.

The clapping noise is related to the cricket chirping. It tails the chirps by a fraction of a second. An echo or reverb I think.

I haven't heard them tonight...but I always recognize them. You can't miss that screeeeEEeeEEch. I have a good friend who is a wildlife rehabber who specializes in raptors. I love heading over to her place to watch and learn. She also has several nightjars hanging around and they have the most amazing mouths! TINY little beaks, until you open them  HUGE mouths!!!! __________________

Whoo Hoo, the first Francolin for the morning!!!
I'm guessing that those are the ones that are REALLY loud and sing at dawn? They just "went off" a few minutes ago?? __________________
