Good morning all,
We are trying to arrange a time to go to Boma and need some help here. What do fights cost from Vancouver British Columbia Canada, where do we fly into, how much does it cost to stay at OUR famous waterhole. We are planning for the fall.
ANY help any of you can give us would be much appreciated.

Ms Charlie & Family

Moholoholo is close to Sabi Sands and has a rehab centre: moholoholo.co.za

The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre is at Kapama Private Game Reserve: wildlifecentre.co.za/rescue.htm

SanWild is a bit further north: sanwild.org

THANK YOU...this is exactly the info we need to plan all of this.

Just be prepared for the heat. It does not worry us as we are used to it but these can be the hottest months of the year. If you are planning on visiting schools then they only reopen in the middle of January in some areas and towards the end of January in others. You will have to ascertain which is the case in the establishments you wish to visit. The only rehabilitation and/or rescue centres I know of are Sanwild, (they do have a web site you can look up), Moholoholo (I think the spelling is dicey) and the Cheetah project at Kapama (Hoedspruit). Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to obtain advice on where to stay and how to get there and I will do all I can to help!

Yours in Parking
Penny

Rain in June, July and August - NO way - those are our dry Winter months and the only area to get rain then is the Cape as it falls into a Winter rainfall area - the rest of the country falls into a Summer rainfall area and Kruger and surrounding area gets its rains starting in late September and going through to March! High season does not necessarily coincide with school holidays and a lot of the lodges and airways have specials to encourage travel during these times so it can also be a good plan to travel then! I believe the best time to come to view game in the Mpumulanga area is in late September as the grass is shorter and most of the game congregates around waterholes and it is also not too hot during the day!

Penny we are looking at going over there right after Xmas. Between Jan
April of next year. We are coming over not just to see all these amazing animals at our now famous waterhole, but I also want to meet with and see the children at the Buffleshoek Trust school etc. This will actually be more a working trip then play. We intend to interview and meet with all the staff behind the scenes at Campbell's lodge. Having said that, every thing we film and see will be shown to the world from this end when we return. Were also hoping to meet with a number of wildlife biologists and game wardens and as many of the locals as humanely possible.
I also need to know if there are any animal rescue sanctuary's near this location as we would like to visit that as well. Any help any of you can give us to plan this would be MUCH appreciated.

Thank you
Ms Charlie & Crew

When (date/month/year) are you planning this trip for Ms Charlie? How many of you will be going? Where, apart from Nkorho, do you want to go?
I will happily try to help you with your planning (and try to get you reasonable airfares/accommodation) if you can provide more details.

You should try to avoid SA school holiday periods as they are much more expensive - as are all school holidays around the world! - and you should also try to avoid the worst of the rainy season in SA (June, July, August) and November, December, January and February as it can be very hot during these months in SA.

Thank you so much for this help. We didn't have a clue on where to start, and what airport to tell them over here that we would be landing in. This will now help us in planning our long awaited trip.

You can also fly to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport via Cape Town.

This way you could combine your stay at Nkorho with a visit to Cape Town which is much more interesting than Johannesburg in my opinion...

Hello Ms. Charlie,

Fly into Johannesburg, South Africa. From there catch a domestic flight to Eastgate Airport near Hoedspruit or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport near Nelspruit (http://www.kmiairport.co.za/).
I think Eastgate is the one that is closest to Nkorho but there are many more flights to KMIA.
I suggest that you contact Nkorho Bush Lodge (info@nkorho.com) for transport from the airport to the lodge and for rates.

Hope that helps...
Katja
