All of this rain makes me wonder if the pan has ever flooded...It's looking pretty much filled to the brim already!

Questions....

Being new to the cam, this is the first rainy conditions we have encountered. What effect on the animals can we expect. More of them...less of them? Any ones particular we might see because of the rainy conditions?

This image is the best I have seen for night viewing since I started...is it normal?

Thank you....

I think on average it is less active around the hole when it rains like this, animals probably are less active when it rains, not to mention that the storms probably create a lot of little temporary, less dangerous places to drink..but, with all that said, anything can happen, some of the best sightings have been during rainy conditions..I was just looking through last nights pics and some great pics of elephants and rhino's together at the same time Laughing out loud

Our group is hoping heavy to see a hippo soon. Just wondering if maybe the rain would bring them out....being a more water-loving creature and all.

Hi all. Still quiet I see. I too am rather new and have been wondering about the rains also. I can see where if water is all over we won't get the visits we are used to but one never knows animals wander.

I suspect that this is as full as the WH can get, because at this point it begins draining at the finger and produces a stream. When the water level reaches that height, the excess will run off down the stream and create a big puddle area down along the ruts of the little roadway.

Critters running around -what are they? They are moving too fast!

Call me crazy, but the one that passed right in front of the QH looked like an impala...?

Hi Kara!

The rain has kept everyone away - haven't even heard the hyenas or jackals like we have the past few nights... Sad

Weren't they too small to be an impala? The little ghosts just ran by the back of the WH again.

I thought they looked like jackals. One stopped for a second in front on the right side of the WH. But I'm in no way certain.

And quiet too. No yipping or whooping to identify them (although I don't think they were hyena, too small).

They were running in front of and then behind the WH. Some ran in front, and some ran behind. There were 2-3 "groups" that came through with a little bit of time in between each.

The first bunch ran from in front of the WH around both sides of it to the back.
Second group ran right to left behind the W.H.

I think the rain may be staarting to let up...Maybe we'll see some action soon!!
