I was a docent for many years in our Zoo's African Savanna, and I always told the tourists that the Secretary Birds didn't take dictation! Smiling They can only mate in flight, and ours were pinioned because we have natural exhibits, so we never got chicks. I liked the Crowned Cranes.... so regal! We had most of the birds I've seen here at the pan... but not the GOAWAY... I think the neighbors would have complained about that loud mouth!

Wow! That was Awesome! I've seen some of those birds up close on a cam I use to watch. The Secretary bird is one of my favorites. And those colorful bee eaters are something to watch when they catch and eat bees. LOL Hope we get a chance to see many of the birds on your video here at the water hole. Thanks to you, I might even be able to identify them. Smiling

I am not too sure about the names that you have given to some of the birds - where did you get them from?

I admit that I do not have a book which shows the 'new' names of some African birds!
