Awesome video of the turtle!! Those little fellows are often found on land going from one water place to another. Might be with 3 of them in that watering hole it was running out of food..

As to the eagle video or unidentified bird.. Could that have been a goshawk? Not sure which kind but it kinda looked like one.

I am not going to argue with the ID of this bird (African Harrier Hawk/Gymogene) but I will say.........

.....I heartily applaud the Cam Operator in his/her magnificent attempts to follow this bird around the trees - Very Well Done You!

Thanks Johanna! Some folks on the watering hole thread think it might be the African Harrier Hawk due to the white strip on the tail. What do you think? I know nothing about birds. LOL Except for the greencheek conure and cockateil I have. Smiling

After checking and re-checking your video and some online research, I have to agree with the African Harrier Hawk identification. Here's a link that tells you all about Gymnogene. Smiling Smiling This is why I love Africam...makes one curious and want to know more Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

Aquila...it looks like an eagle to me....at first I thought a Bateleur, but later in the video, it looked whitish in the chest area with darker back, also the large size,so it's possible it's a Martial.
