Hi Cerinthe,I hibernate in such ridiculous temperatures. It topped out at 118f or 48c with the humidity taken into account. I wasnt crazy enough to try going out to count raptors. Today it goes down to 114f haha down to ya ok. Tomorrow through Sunday I should be able to get out and count my raptors. Im like a kid at Christmas, just waiting to get out there. This early in the season I do know not much is likely but its the anticipation. Since I cant see lions and SA's other awesome animals in Toronto, birds are my substitute. I get that same thrill from searching the skys, and looking for whatever comes my way as well, animal or bird or bug. Ive heard the term, and use it now for what I do...Urban Safari. If lucky I see a Fox,Skunk,Raccoon or some other small animals wandering the park or side of the bluffs. Around the parks gardens, its time for butterflys to begin their migration. Monarchs are the most common. Small birds as well as shorebirds, ducks and my beloved raptors all pass by my lakeside park. At the little public gardens(park) 10 minutes walk from my home,I've now seen 164 species of birds. Quite amazing for being in a city of 4million!
It's very warm in Toronto and very cold in Joh'burg, they even had a drizzle of snow
Talk of extremes
