GOOD MORNING WORLD

(noon here Laughing out loud )

The last day of August and automn is near I think....only 20 C (9 degrees lower than yesterday !!!) Cool winds dropped the temperature this morning....but it's still sunny....

Few birds are flying in the sky....common swifts and house martins among them Cerinthe Smiling

I love these pictures from the ocean....too diferent than our Mediteranean coasts

This week, in the afternoons when I sit on our little back porch, I watch the swifts. Also see turkey vultures, and occasionally a Cooper's hawk.
Today there was a nice red-tailed hawk. Sometimes, herring gulls.

Great photos BigFrank.....Thanks...My sister's husband will be in Torondo between 1-7 September...He will have some meetings at the Universities there....But the real reason was a wedding ceremony...he has a lot of relatives in Torondo.... Hello all!

No swifts around here anymore either. They have left weeks ago, the weather being really bad and cold, too cold for the season. I love the swift's cries when they rush above the medieval roofs here, the sound tells me that ist's summer!

Ceri, we have another tradition concerning birds (my invention, LOL) : The family member who discovers the first swallow in spring has to pay a bottle of champagne. That day means a lot to me!

When will you leave for Leysin, ceri? The weather is quite good now, so hurry and come to Switzerland! Cool
