Hi Bomites, lurkers and newbies...The shock of the being back in the real world is getting a little better. Flo & I had a great trip and hope you all get a chance to visit or return to Africa one day soon.

Hi Annie and BF and Sheila and Lloyd and Krukrab so sorry I missed you all - we never seem to be here together so that we can chat anymore. I cannot believe how fast time is flying - 15 days and we are off to the Kgalagadi Trans frontier Park and then on the 5 December Gareth will be home from USA - he is in Fort Lauderdale at the moment working on the boats. Don't know what he will do when he gets home but there is some indication that he might go back to Thornybush game reserve.

I hope the weekend will allow time to talk to some of you but in the meantime hullo and hope all is well with all of you.

Had a great day yesterday,saw 172 raptors,which with one(of 4 others) left to report,was the most in Southern Ontario. I saw more Broadwinged Hawks then Id counted in either of the last 2years fall counts combined at this location,so thats quite promising for a bigger flight,when the winds are right again.
We also saw thousands and thousands of Monarch Butterflys migrating past. They were all over the sky and steadily all day,to the point of distraction as we tried to filter out the hawks. A Bald Eagle that circled for several minutes over us,and a Kestrel that caught its lunch on the go(a dragonfly) were great sightings.
Im doing well,though sleep deprived.
