Do lions ever make an appearance at this particular watering hole? Wouldn't it be lovely to see that! Laughing out loud

Oh yes that would be nice!!!! I am sure they are in the area - there is lots of game and I believe someone heard them the other night. One thing Africa teaches us is to "hurry up and wait" - patience Smiling Of course I always think they choose to appear as soon as I have left lol.

Hi Sarah

The waterhole is situated in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve which borders Kruger National Park. There are no fences between the Sabi Sands and Kruger and lions (and other major predators) can move freely between the two.

This means that lions could well appear at the Nkorho waterhole but, aminals being unpredictable in their movements, nothing is guaranteed! Smiling

There has been a bit of rain recently and the result is that many animals do not need to visit the waterholes often as there is plenty of water in the bush

Keep watching though and you (we) may get lucky soon!

We saw a lion on 13 September early morning but it was only for a moment...It was too away...Also I read about another preadator...Chetaah or leopard late evening at last weekend but all these sightings are not clear...Predators until now are hidden behind the bush and only a fuzzy pic came to us...
I hope soon we will be more lucky...and as Ingwe said before...Watch when my puter is off Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud !!!!

I saw lions this past weekend very close to the pan. One about 200 meters east of the pan and the other one, an old female killed a baby zebra about 300 meters north east of the pan. Will post a picture soon.

Hi Ingwe, Nkorho is really cool. Saw in fact three different lions, elephants, lots of buffalo, Cheetah on Saturday night right in front of the lodge chasing Bluewildebeest, Leopard (Ingwe) with a Bushbuck kill, lots of Giraffe, Hyena, Kudu and Waterbuck. Oh, and Steenbuck and Duiker, and Vervet Monkey and Baboon and Impala... and Rhino... Will start posting the pics soon... Laughing out loud

Mufassa, we saw lights of landys Saturday night on cam, were you in one of them and we fleetingly saw what might have been a big cat? Do you know anything more about it?

I would like to know the explanation for that. Trying to be polite I once suggested shankaan to you

Cerinthe, I was at the lodge watching the cam. A herd of Wildebeest camped in front of the lodge and two cheetahs stalked and chased them. They tried to catch a Wildebeest calf right in front of us, but missed it. They tried again a few minutes later, and we heard some funny noises, but could not find any trace of a kill that night or the next morning. The one Cheetah appeared briefly on the cam but with the incredible speed it was running, the cam was way too slow to follow it. Sad

All pics posted here should be a maximum size of 640x480 please - otherwise people who do not have a Broadband connection will have trouble downloading them. If you can make them a tad smaller (439x 318 pixels or less, as an example) that would be even more helpful!

Thanks

Mufassa,
Beautiful pictures :!: Look for a PM (private message) about a picture host site that has a resize feature.
It will help you, if you have no other means. I'm sure the "boss" will appreciate that Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

Those are great pics Mufassa - do you use a Canon - digital or film? Is that a > 300mm lens? Outstanding color and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.
