Hello from sunny Durbs.

Hi everyone,
At last I have got around to joining africam, something I have been meaning to do for ages.
I have 4 grown up children, 2 of them identical twins, still are today!! and 4 grandchildren, 1 daughter living in Australia. all the others fortunately in my area.
I was born and raised here in Durban, which is a large city on the East coast of South Africa with a lovely sub tropical climate
I am passionate about wildlife and we try and get to one of the game reserves as often as we can. Kruger being one of our all time favourites. Otherwise we have some very nice ones closer to home which have the big 5 plus some wonderful birds species.
I am a seasoned member of the sanparks forum and I know a good many members hail from here as well.
I have met up with Katja, Freda, Penny, Ton and Herma who I think are all members.
I look forward to becoming more active here and getting to know many more of the africammers.
Kind regards
Elsa.

What took you so long Elsa? Laughing out loud

I have also met Katja & Freda (a few times now!) and Ton and Herma once.
Freda and I, along with Gerda, went to eco-training (in the bush Game Ranger training) for a month in 2001. We met Ton & Herma (en route to eco-t) in Pretoria, along with many other Africammers and some of the (then) Africam staff, at the Olive Grove Cafe in Pretoria.

I have also made many other good friends around the world via Africam, including Cerinthe, Lloyd (L) and florian, who posted below, over the years.

This site is absoulutely the best for learning about the animals and making new friends but you should also look at the wildlifecampus site - wildlifecampus.com - where many Africammers go to learn more about the wildlife and the environment.

Hi Elsa, you live in a wonderful part of the world. As a child I used to go to a place called Glenmore , near Margate, on the Natal coast. What a lovely sea to swim in Laughing out loud
