Thanks Ingwe, thats the one we were looking for.

Well it's OFFICIAL. Our second eagle leaped at exactly 6:52 pm. It was amazing. She just glided down, three big, flap flap flap's and went to parts un-known at the moment.

They are near by as I can hear them yak yak yakking.

I can hardly wait for the night vision camera to kick in and that is when I should be able to spot them. If I know my eagles they should continue to visit the nest for a few days and weeks.

OK back to wait for the camera to kick into black & white so I can see if I can spot them...Smiling

Nope were not hooked on this at all, are we....? tee hee

It's more of a promotional video than of the crew but it's good and the music is fantabulous   Laughing out loud

Ps - are you going grey yet?  - I dreamt about your fledglings last night

QUESTION: I was told there was a video of Nkorho but I can't seem to find it. Do any of you by chance have the link. Any videos of the crew would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance

11:18 PM Vancouver British Columbia time:

Here we goo again. The chick that is still in the nest, has just jumped down from the upper branch and is flapping like mad. The chick that we all saw fall yesterday has turned, getting more active, flapping it's wings as the wind continues to increase.

Yup another nail biter day.

I hope 'IF' the remaining chick in the nest, does decide to FLEDGE like it's sibling yesterday, it is far more successful.

Again, time will tell. The rain is letting up and the sun is starting to come out.

8:17 AM. I just saw the second chick in the nest above the one that fell yesterday. It is hugging a branch just above the nest. It has been there since yesterday. The chick who fell keeps looking up at the nest. I wasn't sure un-till just now when I saw it's tail feathers move.

Morning! Fingers crossed and holding thumbs.   I can hear the rain coming down.  Did Mum bring any food for the chick down on the branch?  I'll be back later......

Good Morning Ingwe,

As far as I can tell, neither Mom or Dad has been in the nest right above her. I have a terrible time zooming this camera as it's run off of microwave boxes so very difficult to zoom the camera. I have zoomed up on the nest above her a few times and have not as yet this morning, spotted the second baby eagle.

The fallen one which you so beautifully captured here, has been moving around and flapping her wings. She was very vocal this morning. You can tell from her body language that she's going to move. When, anyone's guess.

Maybe when Mom or dad comes back to the nest and makes lots of noise, she will have the incentive to climb or fly back up. Here's hoping.

Many of you yesterday who saw her fall and reported it to me, this is why I would never have been able to have found her on that camera.

That corn is now over 12 feet tall. Dawson here in this picture is 14 years old and 6' tall. It is Dawson who goes into the classrooms with our Bird of Prey Experts, Conservation Officer's etc  and fly's Owls, Harris Hawks, Falcons etc right over the kids heads. We have an absolute blast teaching the kids all of this and it ALL got started from the africam.com site.

If any of you have wondered WHY we and the students are so concerned about this pair of baby eagles, check out this video of what happened to the students Barn Owls.

This was a very sad day indeed, so seeing our now much loved and yes at times overly protected eagle fall, made us very concerned.

This has not been an easy year yet it was in fact one of the most educational. During this time the students have also watched and viewed the African site and saw that little Impala with an injured leg, more recently the three legged baboon, and have taken on these injured little guys as if they were their own pets. They are fully aware about the circle of life and yes even the injured ends up in the food chain. I do have to admit however, when we see a baby bird, whatever it may be fall from a nest, a Robbin, Starling etc, we have and will pick it up and put it back in the nest. We would have done the same thing if one of the baby Barn Owls had fallen from the nest box well before there time. Sadly we didn't have to worry about that as the baby's were all killed by the crows.

6:38 am. She is now flapping her wing, looking around and she may just attempt to get back to the nest tree.

Lots of flapping wings right now.
