Hi
Would it be possible to add a new forum, which has a list of every larger mammal species in Sabi Sands private game reserve and as a photo, date and time of that mammal species is taken at the pan it is added to the corresponding name on the list?

The purpose of this is to see how long it would take every mammal species in the park to have visited the pan and at the same time as a reference to members, if they see a mammal, they can identify its name from the list.
You could replace older pictures with clearer pictures as they are taken and do a similar list for birds too.

I think it would clear up some confusion when it comes to identifying animals and birds on the forum.

Some ppl will have fun looking for the animals while others don't want all that searching around in google ......... me! Laughing out loud So far there was not that many different species of mammals at the pan, so to make a similar topic of the mammals seen on the cam as the one Fani did with birds, can not be that difficult and it is a good record too.

Old AfriCam had a Field Guide with different pages like Mammal Guide, Newman's Bird Guide, Invertebrate Guide , maybe someone could ask them to open pages of the same sort.

This link is to an old afriCam page from 2001 and showing a Mammal Guide pages, it can be very slow to open!

I will forward your suggestion Foldy - and 'hello! How the heck are you?'

It would be far better to have these guides on the main page than on the Boma (why didnt I think of that? Laughing out loud ) Thanks for suggesting it.

I am not sure that this is practicable as someone would have to spend time in replacing pics and adding new ones with a positive ID - and in any case, there are a lot of people on the Africam Boma who can, and already do, positively ID any animals that are seen either on 'All Things Wildlife' or on the 'Nkorho Pan' pages.

To have a forum where the animals can be ID-ed (without discussion) would not only be superfluous but it could also take the fun out of trying to ID the animals for many of the less experienced Bomites?

For birds Fani have started a africam bird ID thread in All things birds. It is pleasant to browse through it and see what is seen on the cams.
Good idea to start the same thing for mammals.
As for sounds there are persons busy on making a sound data bank, just give them a few more days time. Laughing out loud
