How many delicious hamburgers they represent?! Just kidding, guys.
Can you imagine...
To those who have no 'respect' for impalas they are known as 'MacDonalds of the bush' - fast food for lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs and hyaenas!
In fact, impala are by far the most numerous of antelope in South Africa (and other areas of Africa) with close to a million individuals - compared, for example, with approx 15,000 blue wildebeest and + 25,000 buffalo - in Kruger National Park.
the famous McImpala fastfood...
I'm not sure what animal you are referring to, but if you look at the rear end of an impala next time one comes to the waterhole you will see the well known M (or golden arches) marked on their rump and tail.
That however is not the reason why the region's most common antelope is also the prey for so many predators from python to lion.
