Yeah Marble, I was confused as I heard later the splash and blub, blub. Maybe Fatty pulling it under and air escaping or something. But the other sound did sound like a struggle and it was several hours prior to the blub, blub that was heard right before dawn. All kind of gross..... __________________

I had heard the splash and blub, blub but I think the impala was taken earlier before that. Not long before the regular hyena showed up there was a loud splash and commotion like hooves were clanging on the skid that is in front of the hide. Maybe that is what attracted the hyena?
I am kind of glad that I didn't hear any of it. Your version of when Fatty fetched his first major din din is first hand, therefore, more accurate than my heresay. Maybe the "blub blub" was Fat's trying to figure out how to eat his first great meal. Thanks Aquila. __________________

Ohh, that's what I heard last night. I was afraid it was something like that... Meanwhile, what a beautiful shot of the moon. __________________
