wow a night time Raffie.....
Thanks Auntie Lyn! The only thing I have ever seen fatty go after on land was a millipede and he waited till it was near the water's edge before turning to snatch it. LOL
Aquila, although their bite could be fatal, generally it's not. If their prey in on land, they drag it into the water to drown it, much like the alligators here in Florida. They use that powerful tail to keep them underwater, and hold them with their jaws until they quit struggling, then they begin the feeding process.
I use to worry about Fatty getting something while laying on shore but someone said they can't catch and kill something out of water. They need the water to do something when they make a kill. Don't know if it is true or not but made me feel better seeing him sunning with mouth wide open and critters walking within inches of him. LOL
Looks like fatty wants one of those fowls....he moved closer...
Look at that kingfisher totally cool he is smashing the fish up against the log to break up the bones...that was cool to watch
Oh my, those warthogs are having a luxurious day at the mud spa today. I like the way the bigger ones are furtherest into the pond and the littlest ones are closest to shore. Looking out for fatty I would imagine. It looks like it feels so good!
There was an animal coming to drink, but the auto-pan kicked in..grrrrrrr
not sure which one of the mods closed the old thread, but I was just putting the link to the new thread when you did it
