Elephant Plains is our only major problem left, although we are still some way off to getting it back - no ETA yet

I visited South Africa from 17th September to 14th October 2008 by way of a retirement holiday.  In all I took 5,500 photos (not including those that I immediately deleted).  It's taken me a month to trawl through them and edit them down to the best of the best.  Over the next few weeks I will share them with you.  Many were taken in our eight days in the Kruger Park, but we also got some spectacular shots in our three days at Nkorho Bush Lodge in the Sabi Sands Park.  Enjoy the pictures.

Charles

This Klipspringer was cute.  We entered the bird hide to see it standing on a rock not six feet away.  It stayed stock still for 25 minutes before it relaxed.  At one point I became convinced that someone had put a beautiful statue just outside the hide and I went right up to the corner of the hide and studied it close-up for 5 minutes to see if it was breathing (which it was).

Hi Charles

I was there last week. The klipspringer is still around. Actually there are two of them. I didn't see them down at the hide but near the car park, so I didn't get as great shots of them as you did.

Charles, thanks for sharing the fantastic pictures you took.  They are really very well done and beautiful captures of nature in that area of Africa.
