I recently found a way to find new posts in every forum.

1. Click on Forums

2. Click on Active discussions

This will bring up a full page with the last 25 topics with recent posts.  You will find the Forum topic, Title,  Author (the person who started that particular thread), Replies and Last Post.

Example:

If I haven't clicked an a forum yet, it will say new after the topic.

It will also show the total replies at that time and also new.

Once I have finished reading that topic, I can again click on forum, then Active discussion and choose another topic to read.  If I have already been to that topic before, it will say how many replies and how many new replies have been posted under the total in bold white numbers.  Then when I click on that topic again, I click on Last and it will take me to the newest posts.   If the topic has a large number of posts, I will set the number of comments per page to 50 so I can scroll through the posts faster.  If I plan to post on that forum and stay there for awhile, I change the number of comments to 10 per page.  New posts will say new on the right hand side, so I can scroll back to the last one I have previously read.  When I post and my post appears, I can also notice any new posts that came in before mine appeared, as they also say new.  When I want to refresh a page, I use the F5 key and it will take me back to where I left off.

Hope this will help new members find new and interesting topics and posts more quickly.  And a way to get back to their favorite topics.

Live streaming

This is live real time video and in some cases live audio. The logistics and cost of operating such cameras in Africa are extremely difficult and as a result most cameras are on a live refresh system. Eg: (Nkorho Pan)

Live real time still /images are refreshed at certain time intervals, for example every 30sec. Please see each camera for there specific refresh rate. Eg (Tau, Black & Eagle)

Posting pictures on the Boma

• Download the program MWSnap from the MWSnap website. Install the software in your computer.
• When you start using it, you might get black images, to get rid of this, go to tools in your windows media player click, options, performance, advanced and un-tick use overlays.
• Start snapping shots on live streaming video and save images to your pc and select jpg format for your images.
• After you have saved your images you choose an image hosting site to host your pictures e.g. tinypic (www.tinypic.com) or any of your choice.
• Upload the pictures through your image host.
• Compose a new message on the boma where you want your picture to appear.
• Copy and paste or enter the IMG link manually e.g. [IMG]http://110.tinypic.com/40f66wl.jpg[/IMG).
• Click the preview button to view your pictures before you submit, to check whether the pictures appears on your message.
•  I USE  PHOTO BUCKET   IT ALSO WORKS FOR ME
• GOOD LUCK    ANY PROBLEMS
