I'm on a Mac and have been watching the cam successfully on Quicktime for a long time. Suddenly, instead of loading as usual, I get a message stating that it's an invalid URL. This has been going on for several days now. I haven't changed anything on my end, so I'm not sure what the problem might be.  But I miss my Africam. Anybody have any ideas?

Hi everyone, Try this procedure and let us know if it helps. Unfortunately, it seems that it won't allow for full screen viewing at this point. 1. Turn off your web browser. 2. Install Flip4Mac if you don't have it already. 3. Click on the lightswitch in your Dock to bring up System Preferences. 4. Go to the Browser button in Flip4Mac Preferences, and uncheck the fourth, last box which says "Launch Quicktime Player." Make sure the first three boxes are checked on. 5. Go to the Player button and check on all of the options, especially the option to "Create streaming movies." 6. Turn off System Preferences by closing this window. 7. Open your web browser and load the page.

I finally was able to view by going back to the Windows Media Player. (I'm on Mac Panther, using Firefox browser--which I cannot use to view). Everything was fine. The last week or so I've been having a new problem--when I try to connect, or refresh, I often get a message saying "The server is not responding."

So now what? Is this problem unique to me, or are others having it and how can I fix it? Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Did u try running the application on other platforms & web browsers. These days there are a number of testing tools available on web which allow you to test your web/flash application on multiple platforms before publishing it live on web,so that you can successfully rectify any browser problems that may creep into your stuff unexpectedly.

Good to know. Thanks. I'll just hang in there then, and keep refreshing the player. Hopefully they'll get it all figured out soon.

Not unique, africam admin is aware of these problems and working on them. there are a lot of us with similar problems, some differing slightly. Hopefully the little cyber bugs will leave us quickly

No answers. Just a similar problem. I'm using the Flip4Mac WMV on Safari with Leopard.  When I get anything at all, it's through the pop-up viewer, and lately I rarely even get that.  I am confident that the intent of all the recent changes was to make the site better, but the opposite has happened.  It has been dramatically downgraded.
