Dwarf mongoose are diurnal so its definitely not that, its hard to see exactly - could be a white tailed mongoose which is nocturnal, but I cant see a white tail. It may be one of the rarer mongoose species like Mellers, which have been seen occasionaly in the Sabi Sands, I'll haul out the old mammal book and see if I can match it up. Landi

It is certainly a mongoose - but which species I would not like to say, given that the pic is not terribly clear __________________
