Thank you, Wild Dreamer.  That's a wonderful link and I'll be spending lots of time there.

I'm loving the longer days in SA, now, aren't you?

Have a lovely day!

posting this here also, in case any one does not also read the posts in the Wateringhole Chat Thread....

morning folks,

I had contacted EP this morning after we had seen the dead baboon on the cam.(saw it too, but was doing other things and not posting too, sorry)

Thankfully I received a reply a few hours afterwards and did not see it until waking up a little while ago. Sharing below.....

Hello Karen

Our rangers went to have a look; it was an old baboon male. The specific tree is used for roosting by a baboon troupe and it looks like he was either killed by another baboon male or a leopard and it died of its wounds. It might be that he was attacked some where else and climbed in the tree to die there. We moved it because the tree is used for roosting and we were scared that the dead baboon will cause the rest of the troupe to move away further from camp.

Kind regards

Lorien

I'm glad they did move it, as we would not be watching the live baboons on there right now, right. Smiling

I am writing a response to EP right now, so if any of you would like to add any comments to them(EP), I would be glad to add them in along with my note.

Lucky you !  I have missed Skewy everytime he has been on this year so far .  He is a wonderful creature, and I hope we continue to spot him in good health for many more years.  This thread may be of interest to you. It is a database of sounds and animals seen at EP and NK.

How do you learn the African names of all these amazing creatures, Wild Dreamer?  I'm still finding my way around the site, preferring to just sit and watch rather than explore!

So far the most magnificent animal I've seen has been Skewey!

My first time posting after becoming addicted back in March.  It's nice to meet you all!

What is that amazing creature crawling through the grass at NK?
