Thanks for the new day Dreamer.  I'm waiting for the Lions.  They can choose their location--EP or NK--either way, I'm waiting and watching. Smiling

I hope you all will help me distinguish between the baboon's huff and the lion's huff.  I recognize the Baboon's "wha-hoo" alarm, and, I recognize a Lion's roar, but, sometimes I cannot tell which animal is making that low yet strong chuffhuff sound.  So I'm counting on you all to help me (now that I've exposed my dumbness).

I always think Lion until I hear the Hooo . But I think that last racket we heard was Lions ( as in more than one ) and then the Baboon's  Waw Hoo anouncement . LOL all I know it was very loud ..and made me mess up my New Day , and I can not fix it Sad LOL

I'm the jinx, I guess.  I've only heard birds, frogs and crickets at EP since joining you all about 20 minutes ago. Embarassed

I think it is me too Mosby.  I'm waiting for the loud sounds--so far, I hear only the chirping critters.

Ok, I hear both the Baboon and the Lion at the same time.  That is, I hear a second or so of them and then the stream cuts out on me.

Hit send too soon.  Got to hear some of that (between bufferings).  Baboon or lion?

Hi, I just heard the lion after the bab also.

I heard both the Baboon and the Lion Mosby, but, like you, the buffering was really bad (and still is) at EP.

All day, it has been the same.  It plays a couple of seconds, literally, then stops for a couple of seconds, and goes on and off like that continuously.

Yes Kara.  Awful buffering.

Mosby, what I do is I keep clicking on the green button link from the home page, to restart.  Sometimes, like now, I even get a whole minute of streaming from EP without buffering!

I have been listening to the nightjar and enjoying it too.   But it made me wonder.   Last year in Jan and Feb there were so many nightjars flying over the pan at NK and I haven't seen any to speak of this year.   We hear them so they are obviously around.   Why aren't we seeing them?

I think because Karin has not been on the cam as often. Don't get me wrong. All the zoomies are great, but Karin has a special touch for the small things :-)  On March 1st ( I think ) she is going to have a special Bird Watchers day.   LOL every since I said that to SD all I can hear when they sing is God Bless The Waterhole

That may be part of it,  but we used to see them swooping over the pan at night,  looking like shooting stars,  and that was when there was no one manning the cam.Undecided
