Does anyone know what bird it is at EP that is making the "peep peep peep peep peep" call?   I'm assuming it's a bird, anyway.

Robin, sorry I don't hear it at EP. I do hear a squeak squeak squeaking at NK, in a long series. I think it could be the olive toad that we hear there. Smiling They sound like a bed squeaking

from the sound of the birds ...I think the Hyeana have awakened  the Bush LOL ...  something is disturbing them and I can hear the Hyeanas making that "lowing" sound. No Baboons or Vervets yet, so may be wrong about the Leopard

Sorry ..my 'puter keeps freezing :-(   I thought it sounded like a cat at NK ..but more like a Leopard.

There are several prides in and out of NK  and the surrounding area.  I think there may have been a post from the Rangers in the Nkorho Q & A thread.  A lot of members keep up with the movement of the Lions, I am sure they can answer that better than me

I dont think I ever heard a Leopard, The reason I asked about the lions is I know that 5 of the Mapogo males are visiting the neighbors right now. thanks for the info Smiling

Those Boys sure get around, that is for sure LOL.  A Leopard "Roar"  will sound like sawing wood ..but what you hear most from them is the spitting, hissing, low gutteral growls, like you would hear from a domestic cat finght ..just bigger and louder  LOL

Probably a mother with her youngster.  The young ones stay with their mother until  they are almost as big as she is.
