uh oh - how did I do that, I wonder....I see that I am in "Sightings". Oh well, I too, was amazed that the tourist vehicle did not at the very least have the motor running. We were taught that the ellie's flapping ears were a sign of distress and warning....and that they can charge without anymore warning than flapping their ears. Is that not so? __________________

Wow! I think that I finally figured out how to post directly into Campfire Chat! Took me a couple tries, so I apologize for all the earlier posts. (Have seen others have the same problem, so now I understand why!) In any case, I am so pleased to be here with you...little late for breakfast with the crew, but if there is still some coffee in that coffee pot, Alf, for the pacific (west) side of the country, then I'd be mighty happy to sit for a spell.... __________________

.... If that ellie is just slightly agitated those guests could get a huge fright., because at that distance you would have to stand your ground if he came for you, and even for the most experienced ranger that can be and adrenaline moment Thanks Janine!!! I felt already anxious looking from my screen thousand km away ...I 'm not sure what I would feel if I were there ..LOL maybe the magneficient moment of being near such a big elephant would be so exciting to realize my fear LOL __________________

What a wonderful experience that must have been for the people on the Landie this afternoon. First one Elephant and then the other came right up to the vehicle to say Hello ! I think the first one actually touched the truck ! Glad I got to see that before the cams went down. posted a couple of pics in the pic thread .
