Elephant Plains is our only problem left, although we are still some way off to getting it back - no ETA yet

Not sure if you are aware that the sound quality is very poor both at night and during the day.  Very muffled and a lot of static...wonder if there are critters nesting in there?

I am having trouble too with the static.  I thought it might be my speakers or my headphones but I get the same thing on my other computer.  This has been going on for several days.  Have the thunderstroms damaged the microphone?

edit....most of the time lately I have to shut the sound off because of all the static, but then I miss critters making sounds or their entrances this way.

This is from the blog at WildEarth Djuma:

"The camera at Buffelshoek dam has been giving us endless trouble and finally gave up the ghost the other day. So we went out to take a look, and we found a whole nest of ants had taken up residence inside the camera!! Needless to say the camera had to be removed and is now in Johannesburg where it is being repaired."

Wonder if this could be the problem here because it sounds like constant small movement.

I've been having the same problems ex, not the potato chip bandit from the past, but heavy sounding static, like a large critter is coming to the waterhole with some crunching in between. Sad I think they need us to go over there with our hair dryers and dry out the wires to the microphone!
