Hooded Vulture is one of the smallest and least vigorous among the vultures of its habitat. Female is slightly larger than male.

Hi Barry, we are busy with general bush clearing. That's what you would have seen. Fo the next few weeks we will still continue on the open area in the early mornings while guests are out on drive.

Karin Van de Merwe, (NK Lodge Manager) just posted this on NK FB page:  We will be closing the wet patch properly tomorrow after morning drive. Unfortunately we had to do a "quick job" as we can not make too much noice using the tractor to fetch some propper dead bushes to close it down, as the game drive vehicles are in the area. Just hope the Elephants do not come and make a mess of it. I got quite nervous when a few of the Buffalo struggled to get through the mud and that is why we just decided to close it before dark and hope it dries out quickly!!!
