This must be a problem of the english language of how you used to call something . ... I suppose and I'm the last one who can talk.... But to support Barry and Mike ...Shellducks are refered as ducks in RSPB site ...(and other english language encyclopedias )... although ..Shelducks are intermediate in some respects between ducks and geese..
Fani, the question was, " what are the young called " and that is " Goslings and not Ducklings " even though the parents belong to the sub family " Tadorminae " which includes various members of the Shelduck family they are indeed Geese. __________________
