Subscriptions

I like the subscription function on most forums that will send an email about new replies to a specific thread. You guys had this function on the old phpBB borad....but I don't see it here....

If it exists...please let me know where it is. If it doesn't exist....Drupal has a module for this and would like you to consider installing it, if it is possible. Thanks...

I jumped into Drupal thinking, "How hard can it be..." ?

In fact...it was already loaded in my C-Panel Fantastico and really just a matter of activating it. I'm still learning it...even the terminology is different from what I am used to. However...I think the aggressive caching policy issue is the key to the site speed and occasional "too many connections" errors....

However....it would appear that the more modules you add...the more likely there will be a conflict? You have quite the balancing act to perform on this one. If I stumble across anything useful...I will pass it on. I think I am going to keep Drupal as the core of my new website and see what happens. Laughing out loud

tnks Maxx, yes css can be an issue, but mostly because we make extensive use of cache(of php code and plenty other stuff), so one has to be v careful to make sure cache is flushed before u see changes.

Any input is most welcome, so absolutly no need for any aplogies.

The problem with the sub module is that it doesnt accomodate anon users - we have found something that does(comment_notify), although its limited to just comments - busy testing it

Well...I hope you don't mind me pointing out the modules. I recently installed Drupal just to see what makes it tick, so-to-speak. That's one freaky set-up...I'll say that....LOL Laughing out loud

My congratulations to you or your coders in turning the Drupal "forum" into a real forum. Even modifying the CSS is an involved process under Drupal it seems. Once the CSS is modified, it must be "regenerated". Never saw that before in my life.....

However....on the upside, the module list seems pretty extensive. Lots of bells and whistles and useful items.

Keep up the good work.... Smiling

we are actually looking at the notify module but the subscription module also looks useful. There are also a number of other such modules that do sort of the same thing with extra widgets.

This boils down to some r&d/time, which will probably be there in about a week odd.
