- Hi There ,
As i was looking for more and more and more Information on the Windmill pride (LOL) i found the Savuti pride on Internet.
I was completly surprised! I didnt know that 2 lionesses were able to kill a adult male Elephant! But they can!
I found a lot of information about this pride also known as the Elephant Killers.
For Elephant lovers this may not be nice information, and for Lion lovers who think that they are sweet cats ? maybe you have to change you'r thought about lions.
What i mostly agreed on is that it may be shocking information that this pride does kill elephants , it is mostly because of Human intervention that caused it to happen.
Humans changed the natural habitat with drying the rivers and making waterpools to attract Tourists with $, were the Ellies could be watched and be safe, BUT and a big BUT! The habitat for lions was changed also! less normal prey to catch, So this pride started hunting on elephants, First little and wounded one's and the more experience they got and were learning, the more they became specialist in hunting Ellies.
Here are some links with information.
WARNING! a movie can be found on Youtube but it is not a movie i could look at more as 10 seconds.
National Geographic and the BBC have done a documentary on the Savuti's But the actuall kills were not broadcasted. ( I think they are right in this ). Espacially children must not see it.
