Giraffes chew bones to help meet their need for large quantities of calcium and phosphorous. This phenomenon is known as 'osteophagy'.

Tortoises also need calcium for their shell and they often eat the dung of hyenas.

hi all.  do we have a spider on the cam lens on the right side as well as IR light out for the right at NK?  Also seem to have more white dots which I think are pixels and not stars then usual.  I just got here and starting to catch up on the forum posts, but heard something sounding nearby as well as some what I think are rutting sounds or alerts from impala occasionally at NK.

I thought maybe Josh or some other ranger would get the lights fixed on Thursday.  Those really quit working in a hurry...  Circuit breakers  tripping, fuses or lamps burning out, who knows?

Jacques went on vacation the evening before the light went out again.  Being they had just recently replaced it I wonder if it was a bad bulb or some other problem also.   I don't know if the replacement zoomies or others there know about how to do any of the cam maintenance but hope they do or it will be a long two weeks with one sides lights out.

yes EP is nice and peaceful to watch and listen to.  With the light problem and the electical humm at NK I have found that I pause that cam now to navigate the forum and all so it goes faster.  I think I just heard a baboon grunting at EP. my luck a great sighting will be coming very soon since I have to go now, but will be back later for the morning parade.  Have a good day and good camming all.

Great choice Barry, this guy still looks mighty fine, he has not changed much since he was here many years ago.  I really enjoyed Elvis last night singing, You Gave Me a Mountain.

The closest I ever came to Elvis was standing beside his costumes in bullet proof cases in Vegas years ago.  Still the KING. Keep the tunes coming. It is still snowing off and on, with the wind chill tonight -27. Is Spring ever going to come? I had a coyote just a few feet across the street tonight. I am across from a wheat field.  He was hunting for the Prairie Chickens I feed, they sleep in the field.  Cheers for now

Good (early) morning everyone..  is ep down?  and nk about to lift off?  -- with the odd sound..  but there is  a fiery necked nightjar and a scops owl..

Hi there folks.   Baby Dumpling, I haven't seen you in a long time.  -27!!!   That's too cruel!

When I came on and saw only one page I figured there hadn't been much action. Frown

I like the cartoon Barry.
