for anyone here that was here one night recently when we heard a bird close to the mic at night that sounded like a hiccup or like a cockoo clock with two tones in its call...I got a recording of it and sent it to Penny who sent it to authoritative people she knows in Sabi Sands and it was identified as a painted snipe. That would be new for our database so hope we will see one on cam and get a screen capture of it :) It was interesting to listen to that night too. Thanks Tman and Penny! You weren't far wrong with your cuckoo description. My book says "Male utters a trill, female gives a distinctive , soft, two-syllabled 'wuk-ooooooooooo', repeated monotonously after dark. Scarce resident! We were lucky I think __________________

 hi howwa - both zeek and zelda were in yard and henry was chasing them around for about 10 minutes they would just fly and hop along in front of him i guess he is lord of the yard now lol theywould fly back to where the food scraps were he would chase them and this went on for 10 minutes the light was to poor and i dint have my 100-400 zoom it died -- but i got a new one in the mail just half hour ago
