Birding Day is Taking Off

Birding DayNovember 27th is "Birding Day" and Africam wants to celebrate. Birdlife SA, a conservation group, has designated this day as a big birding day in South Africa, where our cameras are located. Since most of our users won't be able to make it to Africa on that day, we are going to bring "Birding Day" to you. We have a great deal planned including a video montage, enhanced bird sighting alerts and a special Birding Day Giveaway! Get your virtual cameras ready, 'cause you might have to do a bit of desktop birdwatching to get the prize. Join us for the party and stand a chance to win a multimedia version of the world famous "Robert's Bird Guide".

Best Sighting of 2010?

Wild DogsThis past month may have given us our greatest sighting of 2010. On October 20th at 5:30pm CAT at Nkorho Pan, a huge pack of WILD DOGS took center stage on Africam. It is always a pleasure to see these animals as they are an endangered species and very few remain in Africa. It was one of our most watched sightings of all time.

A Buffalo Invasion

Buffalo HerdThe Nkorho Pan provides a well needed drink for countless animals over the course of the year. However, this might be a record for the most at one time. When this massive herd of Buffalo stopped by this month we were suprised there was any water left after their visit.
