Tomorrow we need to make a plan about our  water pipe because of our "Plumber Ellie " too. It is not in a good mood latley and is destroying everything in it's way.  For the last 2 nights it has pushed over about 7 or 8 trees around the lodge. There are thousands of trees around and he chose those next to our houses! Why oh why??

    A  -   MUSTH   ?

    B  -   DOES NOT LIKE TREES  ?

    C -    LIKES ROCKS   ?

     D -   ALL OF THE ABOVE   ?

A gland between the eye and the ear periodically produces an oily substance called musth; during these periods the animal is in an excitable, dangerous condition, also called musth, meaning madness.

resulting is a yern   to  push   over   trees

they will eat  225 kg ( 500 ) pounds of feed a day

they will drink   25 to 50 gallons of water depending on size of animal

They will dig deep holes with their trunk in search of water,

some holes being several feet deep

It is thought that they know where to dig to find water

due to social interactions with other elephants.

I transplanted some quince bushes today. Man, those things have thick, gnarly roots! It was not a pleasurable task!

Quinces?  I haven't heard of or seen those things for years.  My mum used to have some trees down the back of her place years ago.  We are talking about the hard yellow fruit..needs to be cooked somehow?

Barry, mine are like what Janice described - small, yellow, and hard. Beautiful flowers in May, though.

Hiya Sue, I'm doing well just now.  Not sure if I've met you before, it's been a while since I've been here.  That and CRS are both factors.
