I tied to find the news of caribous, for they had some numbers, but didn´t find. They talked of two biggest herds. Whereas I found a news of the Arctic Ocean. It is going to thaw in ten years so that  you may sail to the North Pole! too bad for ice bears, seals and whales. It will open new sea routes for ships for it will be quicker to use the Northwest Passage from Canada or the Northeast Passage in Russia as Suez or go round South Africa.

Hei everyone!

Barry, I just red on a paper that  caribou herds have got smaller in Canada and it is known the reason for that.

Our half tame reindeer is relative. It has tamed from a Norwegian wild reindeer about 400-500 years ago.

the mountain caribou in the souther  east kootenay of b.c.

yes smallnumbers from loss of habitat they feed on lichen mostly

so when you logg old growth timber they have the lichen on them

in north east b.c. the population is still healthy

i have been on the dempster highway in the yukon territory

when the porcupine herd crosses the highway  200,000

animals in a two week to a month period

they are barren ground  caribou
