Okay, now for my (true) story. Interesting how Barry mentioned and posted a photo of a bunny last night ~
This afternoon there was a dead baby bunny in the backyard, so dh disposed of it - obviously a cat got it. Teen saw it, but no comment.
Tonight, around 8:00, she heard a squeal out the window and went out to investigate. She saw one of the cats carrying another baby bunny by the scruff of its neck. She managed to get the cat to put it down, and shooed her away. Then she came and got us.
She was crying and begging us to do something to "save" it. By this time, three of the cats had congregated near it. So dh put it in a box, then went out to the barn to get an empty large fish tank. He filled it with grass and clover, then set it in the fenced-in veggie garden with a screen cover - just in case of any more predators - to recuperate.
Well, Teen was hysterical by this point, and wanted to keep the bunny as a pet, in her bedroom so the cats wouldn't get it. (Ya, right!) She was so traumatized, she went to bed early.
And, I hope we live happily ever after!
